Aspire Leaders Program: Free Leadership Development for Low-Income, First-Generation Students
The Aspire Leadership Development Program invites low-income, first-generation college students and recent graduates from around the world to join a free online immersive leadership journey. This program includes professional skills training, an exclusive course designed by Harvard faculty, and interactive seminars led by world-class educators.
Upon completion, Aspire Institute empowers alumni by offering seed funds, leadership workshops, and access to a global network of peers and mentors to continue their development.
Aspire Institute’s mission is to transform the lives of underserved young adults worldwide through a fully funded leadership program that nurtures future leaders to create positive change in their communities.

The Harvard University Aspire Emerging Leaders Program offers participants a unique, immersive leadership experience. Benefits include:

Harvard University Aspire Emerging Leaders Program: Eligibility Requirements
The Harvard University Aspire Emerging Leaders Program is designed for students from socially and financially disadvantaged backgrounds. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Aged 18-26 years
- From a low-income background
- A first-generation university student (parent(s) and/or primary caregiver(s) did not complete a bachelor’s degree)
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or have recently graduated (within the last 3 years)
OR - Education impacted by a natural disaster or armed conflict (e.g., refugees or displaced persons)
This program provides opportunities for students facing significant challenges to develop leadership skills and make a positive impact in their communities.
